TURN OFF VISTA INTERRUPTIONS:
Have
a new Windows Vista machine? Tired of
approving everything you do? Here is how to
turn off the annoyance that causes Windows Vista to
ask you to approve everything you do to the machine
. . .
In Start > Control Panel > Classic View
Double left click the User Accounts Control Panel >
Click Turn User Account Control (UAC). Turn it
off (despite windows protests) > Reboot
You can now use your computer without being asking
you if it is ok to do what YOU want to do.

MAKE XP OPERATE FASTER:

Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab >
Performance Heading > Click Settings > Adjust
for Best Performance (Uncheck all options).
